COLOGNE GIVEAWAY - First off if your name was chosen for a free Cologne sampler please email us your mailing info. If you have already done so, cool yours will be in the mail.
CLASSMATES.COM - SPAM ABUSE – This has nothing to do with perfume, but for some reason this website has chosen to spam Mr. Z’s Peace Angel Farm inbox. He nor I have ever had a membership with classmates.com, and we consider it very annoying and intrusive. I have tried just about everything I know to get rid of these pesty folks, and am about ready to smack someone. I have them on spam block, but they still get through. Anybody have any similar stories or solutions.
DAYBREAK VIOLIN, VIOLETS & RAINWATER, ACOUSTIC FLOWER – There seems to be a bit of snobbery these days when it comes to pretty smelling perfumes, fruity florals, etc. The stranger the better it seems in many circles. And as I am no stranger to strange, I am also quite pleased at the growing success of these pretty flowery perfumes. They are not old school flowery, except (maybe) the Acoustic Flower’s Gardenia note. The Daybreak Violin is a lily of the valley scent with additional notes of lime and mint. The lime sits just under the lily for much of the evolution, maintaining that crisp green flow. Violets & Rainwater is a watery violet, not heavy or cloying, with a hint of earthiness in both the opening and the dry down. The one good thing that came out of our participating in the festival yesterday was the overwhelming response to these perfumes. Another perfume that receive a lot of praise was the Rivertowne Natural Perfume. I consider it more masculine and perhaps should not label it as such, a lot of women liked it. I was surprised. So many lovers of green notes. Made my day, as I am a greenie to the bone.
FESTIVAL – We set up yesterday at the Middletown Arts & Music Festival, and while it was a nice day and we had a great response to the perfumes, a few sales and made quite a few connections. This is not my thing. I was surprised that there were people just as willing to buy a 2 ounce bottle of perfume as there were those wanting a mini 5ml spray. The festival was more about the music than the art, and overall (to me) it seemed like a very low attendance. Festivals in this part of the country are usually packed with people, and maybe it is the economy or any number of related things, but people are just not coming out. Our own little village festival is coming up , so I am curious to check out this years attendance. Usually packed with people as well. But festivals and this sort of thing, are not something that I would ever do again. It is too much work. It took me all week to prepare, while at the same time trying to fill orders and run my business. It was as if I had suddenly taken on another full time job. If it had not been for Mr. Z and his outdoor stuff, tent tables etc. I could not have done it. I will leave that to him, which will be starting soon as he is committed to both area Whole Foods this summer for their open air markets. The cool thing about yesterday was in how the people responded to what I do. When we are open with people and make them feel welcome, they are more likely to spend time with us. This was the case yesterday. People who know nothing about artisan or natural perfumery were quite eager to learn a little, and enjoy a spritz.
MOVING AHEAD – I am back to working on musk trials, and will be batching out my new Mexicali Rose this week. I am also making one last change to the carrier for the Cumberland Ti, and am putting together the sampler packs for the cologne suite.
Peace & Blessings, ZZ…….
