I started out the day with the intention of batching Cordovan Rose and Pink Button Rose. I went down a puttered around in the lab for awhile realizing that I was not in the mood to do this. I will go back later, maybe this evening. Can’t say what it was, maybe Mr. Z being on a different schedule today. He is on his way home from Whole Foods Cincinnati, after selling out of his organic blueberries. This is his first day at the market this year and so far all we have had is rain. The berries are coming in a little later than usual and will overlap with the garlic harvest, which means that I will likely be picking berries too.
The title for this post “A Fine Balance” was originally used for a post that I wrote for my Beacon Free Blog. I am moving the Beacon blog from wordpress to blogger. I love some of the word press features, so I will keep the LZP blog here for now. As I write this, Daniel (Beacons brother) is pushing his head under my arm for a head rub. We are totally stunned by him. At ten months old he is already the size in stature of or biggest cat Charlie who probably weights around 18 to 20 lbs. Cats usually start to taper off in skeletal growth by their first birthday, and continue to fill out over the next two years, achieving full growth at age three. Daniel is solid black with copper colored eyes. I do not have any recent pics. of him but will surely remember to take some. I am going to take pics. of all Beacons siblings and mom, for the new blog. Daniel if he keeps growing will likely be the largest cat I have ever had, including Miss Ruthie our Maine Coon who was huge. But more on all that later.
By this time next week I should have all of my packaging materials for the new brand. I know I have said that before, but darn it this time I mean it. As I also said before the box will be red. Like the tube cans we use for Soivohle Moderne. I decided to go with a tube can for the new brand because the bottle is round. It is also frosted and 1 ounce. The wrapping paper will be a shade of plum and the label a muted version of the dogwood image in the earlier post. I photo shopped it to a light shade of lilac that borders on gray, with red lettering. The design on the bottle label will be lighter and less defined than the one on the box. I am also adding either a tassel or a tag to the bottle, am not sure yet which one I want. So that will be the last element added. Since the mini tassel will have to be custom made.
If you have not been to our soivohle website lately, I have lowered the rate in which our discounts kick in. Free shipping now starts at 50.00 instead of 75.00 and free shipping plus 10% discount at 100.00 instead of 125.00. We also have a new voucher system in place for repeat customers. This started yesterday. Now when you purchase from the website you will receive (with your order) a discount voucher good on your next purchase.
That’s about it for now. I am going to have another cup of tea and try to wrap my brain around lab work.
Peace & Blessings, ZZ……..
