Conditioning the mind for a marathon, is perhaps more important than conditioning the body. At least it is a 50/50 all in or nothing kind of thing. Gearing up for a sale is marathon like in that there is no time to stop and do something else. The brain kicks in and the adrenaline begins to surge, and before you (I) know it, fifteen twenty hours have gone by and I am still working. Eventually the body takes over and demands some down time. I will get some sleep tonight, get up early and start all over again. I am really proud of myself. I have been able to cut the strings and let go of some of the perfumes in the collection. Many are someones favorite, and it is hard to retire a scent, but at the same time I want to focus my energies on the ones that do well consistently. I do plan on bringing some of them back, as it is listed on the sale page of our website. But for some, like Allegory, I believe that the newer Lavender Water is much nicer, and more defined. Yes, I could have two lavender perfumes in the same collection, but for me I don’t like the idea of repeating myself, I am more interested in creating note combinations that I have never used before. Not rely on the same old thing time after time. It is boring. And safe. Too safe for my taste. I am also planning to spend a lot of time on my new brand in the coming weeks. It is set to debut in June, and I will be participating in an art fair in May, where I will debut some of the new perfumes. I have a couple of these kind of events on the schedule for summer. I will be joining Mr. Z at the Ohio State Fair in August. And probably help him out again this year when he does the Whole Foods thingy. Two locations this year. So lots of up time. After his PBS spot aired a couple of weeks ago, everybody seems to want a piece of him. He is the most steady person that I know, so none of this phases him in the least. Love that.
